Who would have thought huh? It also gives your mood a boost, helps you sleep and makes you feel good about yourself. So why did I stop for so long? (Probably because it takes up a lot of time, it’s tiring, and it makes you hot and sweaty. Nothing in life is perfect right?)

I’m easing myself back into the game, so last night I got on the treadmill and walked hills for 20 minutes (3.4 mph from 5-15% incline) and then cycled for 20 minutes (levels 5-10). I burned maybe 250 calories.

Food was okay yesterday–hitting close to the right calories, but pretty crummy in the nutritional department. I had a huge salad for lunch (good!) and then turkey hot dogs for dinner (not so good). Ah well.

Today was more of a challenge though. Like every other office in the free world we get all kinds of free food in here randomly. Today was our Thursday Bagel Day. I didn’t mean to get anything (and actually I THREW AWAY the chick-fil-a co-worker put on my desk so I wouldn’t miss out–the chick-fil-a goes fast around here!), but I ended up cutting myself half of a donut to have with my morning tea.

And then for lunch I was going to get something healthy, but randomly we had a Mexican food buffet catered in our office and everyone was pressuring me to go with them. So I went online first (woo!) and figured out the calories in most of the stuff I knew we wouls have. I ended up with half a plate of salad, 3 slices of grilled chicken, about a 1/4 cup of black beans and rice each, one tortilla, and a small corn tamalito. I did NOT realize that the tamalito was going to have close to 200 calories (it wasn’t on the site I checked and I had to look at another site after I picked up the innocent looking corn thingy), but still I ended up near 600 calories for lunch which isn’t too bad. Plus I’m actually pretty full. So I’ll have a banana for a snack later and about 500 calories for dinner. Not bad at all!

I’m also planning on doing some exercise. Today: walk 1/2 mile, run mile, walk 1/2 mile.

My left knee has been bothering me so I’ve been trying to go light on the cardio. Today will be a test.
